WHAT WE DO

We highlight that the Health and Safety of all employees and subcontractors is our number one concern and we endeavour to ensure everyone returns home safely at the end of each working day. This is achieved by auditing procedures, policies, conducting site inspections, updating equipment and carrying out toolbox talks.

We recognise that the industry in which we work requires a dedicated approach to creating and maintaining a safe working environment for all of our employees and those affected by our operations.

As a minimum standard of competency, all site-based employees hold a relevant Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card and a Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) when using plant or equipment. All site-based employees are either undertaking or have NVQs and all Site Managers/Supervisors have a minimum of Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) or Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification as well as appropriate first-aid, IOSH and new roads & street works certification. HMH Civils invest in employees by providing CPCS training plant training as well as skill related training and NVQs. We are also committed to investing in the future of the company and the industry’s future workforce by offering opportunities to apprentices; we currently employ apprentices in Groundworks, Bricklaying, Plumbing and Administration.
